Setting the Table | Recap Week 3
Little Hands at the Table
This week I’ve found myself running several days behind on the Tabletop Challenge. A few reasons:
Ginny—often still called “the baby”—turned 1! 🥳 She loves to eat, so while I’m getting dinner ready, I’m also feeding her as quickly as I can.
I’ve been doing a lot more cooking. I signed up for the Pinch of Yum fall meal plans and have been getting back into a weekly groove.
I have a photoshoot next week, and I’ve been preoccupied getting ready for that—think Christmas trees, garland, and all the table settings.
And that’s alright. Life happens, and fall is busy. I’m hoping that this nightly practice will help me be prepped for our upcoming photoshoot. I also know it’s a practice I want to continue. Some of the items in my capsule weren’t as good as I had hoped, and a few have even been hard to find. I’d like to revise and adjust over time until this becomes a true habit.
But, as with most things, my favorite moment from this challenge didn’t come from planning or perfection—it came from my almost eight-year-old. She dreamed up and executed a full “back to school” themed table all on her own, and watching her idea come to life was unforgettable.
